Weekly CIP Contribution Rate Effective March 2023

Dear Valued Employer

The Construction Income Protection (CIP) Limited Board in consultation with industry and union organisations have confirmed the weekly CIP contribution rates and worker benefits for the next 3 years.

Future Rates:

Please find below a table detailing the CIP future rates and effective dates. While increases are never welcome the Board remains committed to providing certainty in the industry, locking in the below rates for the next 3 years.

STANDARD PROGRAM - Building and Civil Industry

  • From March 2023 contribution period - $47.00 per person, per week (inc. gst)
  • From March 2024 contribution period - $51.00 per person, per week (inc. gst)
  • From March 2025 contribution period - $54.00 per person, per week (inc. gst)

With the recent events of COVID and weather related disasters the general insurance market has seen an increase in premiums across all products. This impact has also been felt on the CIP Program. While the Board is confident that these new contribution rates can be sustained over the period outlined below, these amounts could be varied due to unforeseen changes in the market.

Benefit Increase:

The member benefit for the Standard Program for injuries/illnesses from 1 March 2023 will include Billpayer.

Members on a CIP claim will be able to claim up to $250 per agreed bill to a maximum of $5,000 over the duration of a claim. Bills covered and able to be claimed include:

  • Electricity
  • Water
  • gas
  • Phone (landline or mobile)
  • Tuition for Dependants

If you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact the office.

Your Sincerely

Steven Hack
